Raising rear of Duck Tail was created by badrhino
Has anyone raised the rear of their duck tale? I think it would look better at least on my bike with it raised a bit at the back. If you have done this could you please tell me how you did it. I have a few ideas but would like some input.

I made a bracket to raise the tail as well as mount a Zx12 taillight.
If you raise the rear of the tail too far you're going to run into issues at the front of the tail section in front of the forward mounting bolts.

Saweet, that was kind what I had in mind but was going to try it with thinner aluminum or stainless sheet and cut/bend it to the form I needed and then just use bolts at all mounting points. I am using the R6 tail light so it might not be as complicated as yours or maybe it will be worse.

I raised the rear of my 650's tail an inch to fill the gap I created when I redid my seat, using a bracket I made out of aluminum, similar to Doug's.
Just 4 holes in a flat bracket, with two holes on each side one inch apart.

Ok, thanks Guys. I was hoping it was that simple but the R6 tail light has mounting tabs placed vertically so I will definitely have to have a 90* bend in my bracket.

i just put spacers under the rear monts untill it hit the seat bottom. then i cut the tops back, on the front of the tails arms,so it would lay on the frame better.

With mine, we actually bent the rear sub frame to raise the tail. The front of the tail (under the seat) needed to be trimmed to fit on the frame better as well.
I wasn't worried about "going back". I love that "look"!
If brackets work without exposing the frame too much, go for it!!

I used a bracket like Rstnick and Doug to raise the tail and other to raise the rear part of the seat to fit it with the tail.
