two up cafe seat? was created by cafe650
I know most cafes are designed to fit one person snuggly but wheres the fun in having a bad ass bike that u cant take a girl on? So im curious if anyone knows where i can get a two seater or how i can make one if i have to? Iv done google searches with little results except for rediculously expensive seats that cost more than i paid for the bike

I was thinking of fabbing one out of foam and fiber glass.. Maybe with a cover that I can take on and off so it could go from seat to cafe tail?..
More of an idea.. I haven't finished my single seat yet:)

The giuliari seat for the kz650 Bs & Cs is a nice two up seat, but may not be Cafe enough for you, or qutie what your after.

Can be found on ebay in Europe quite often, but usually go for $100~$300 plus shipping.

I bought a seat cover from translate.google.com.au/translate?hl=en&...ieshop.de%2Fagb.html , the Giuliari copy, and have recovered a seat I have with the new cover after reshaping the foam:

I'd say most girls ride on that Guliani will most likely be less than enthused with riding after about 10 blocks, so be sure it's a one night affair. That has to be torture for the passenger and the passenger will be constantly sliding up so torture for the rider too. Wasn't Rudy Guliani the mayor of New York? He should have stayed with politics and not ventured into ill conceived seats. :P

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

I've thought of that too, make a two seater with a fibergalss or some thing cover that quickly "snaps" off for two person riding. Haven't really researched the idea yet though.

I was wondering about making a fiberglass cowl. Iv never worked with fiberglass before but i think that would be the only way to make a real two seater cafe seat. That guliari seat might work if i could find a tail light to fit where that ugly dirtbike tail is.

some dirt track tails have a longer seat area to accomodate the rider shifting around.

maybe trim it up a little.

I have the same thought. Look on ebay there is a 33 inch long cafe tail for like 105 plus shiping.
I was thinking a inch thick piece of closed cell foam and dubble it up for the back.
So she is comfy and to give ne a bit of a back stop vs a flat seat. Wrap in leather mabe some worne out good will leathe jaket
Truth be told I love havin t!ts on my back lol wouldn't want a bike without that option

Some of the hd seats have a pasenger butt masager aka vibrator thought mabe. Lol
Just a thought.
Hope this helps

Here's a 1978 CB400 Showcased in the April 2012 Cycle Canada magazine, built by a buddy, that has a Cafe seat for two:

I hope your wrong Ron.
A least for being comfortable.
I do mostly one up riding, and will have another seat to swap on if needed.
Charlie, on the kz650 forum has had one of these seats for ages, and used to ride with his then girlfriend on the back.
20 some odd years later (I'm guessing on that) he's now married to the lucky girl.

That seat would be perfect. Did he make it or can that shell be purchased?

He made it.

"No seat and tail combo could be found from aftermarket suppliers that was deemed suitable, nor did any fit the stock frame tubes. Grinder-mounted cutting discs made Honda's rear subframe and center stand mounts immediately redundant. They bent and welded new tubes, including upper shock mounts, to the CB400's backbone. The new level upper frame rails provided a platform for the hand-formed sheet steel seat pan and rear cowl".
