Ignition / Tank Key - replacement

Evening fella's,

my Z200 didn't come with an ignition key, therefore i can't open the fuel filler on the tank. Ignition isn't a problem, i can bypass that, and the seat lock has already been broken off. Ideally i'd like to get a replacement key which will open the seat / tank and work the ignition, does anyone know if its possibel to get a replacement made?

If not any ideas how to 'break into' the tank withoug completely knackering the fuel filler?

Cheers
Ian

If there's no gas in the tank, my first thought would be to take the tank to a locksmith and perhaps they can get it open and/or even make a key for you. But first, take a close look at the ignition switch. I had a KLR250 years ago that I purchased from a buddy of mine, the bike had been stolen and returned to him by police in another state; a rare occurrence for sure. The ignition was butchered. I found a replacement ignition lock at a local shop without a key, but the lock had a number on it. With that number, they were able to make a key for it. Your ignition may have a number on it, they could possibly make a key and that should fit the tank, unless someone changed that out to a different unit.
