I don't think it will fit, the front tank mounts and bottom of the tank may not jive with the 1000 frame. I have never tried it so I'm not 100% sure. If it does fit make sure the petcock clears whatever carbs your running, if your bike is apart I'd mock it up to make sure. Doug

That won't even come close to fitting....save your money for a 1000 tank or find a 400 to use the tank on.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationKeep looking man, they are out there. I just picked this one up cheap. The shipping was more than the tank though.
