Hey everyone, I have a few questions with regard to the fuel tanks.
Frame in question is a 77 1000A.
1) What tanks will fit the frame besides the same era 900 tanks? I am -not- concerned about lining up with the seat or the petcock design etc... my only concern is proper attaching to the frame/fitting on the backbone.
2) From underneath the tank, how much lower does the tank hang from below the outside backbone pipes? For example, does the tank sit flush with the bottom of the outer backbones, 1/2" below, 1 1/2" below, etc.
3) Were there ever any fiberglass dummy tanks available for these bikes in stock or near stock shapes? Simulated tanks made of fiberglass that were hollow (usually used for drag bikes etc, only not the big square ones you usually see). I have searched a bit but only seen big square drag ones.
I'm just trying get some variables straightened out so I can get a plan in place for my tank setup
