I am converting a 1994 KZ1000 Police to a cafe kinda bike. It had the huge saddle like seat on it. What is the best seat/seat pan to start with to put a 2 person cafe seat on there? Or should I make my own and just buy any foam and make it work? What do you guys think is best?

Thanks,

-Josh

Here's a thread for what one guy did with his bike: www.kzrider.com/forum/10-new-members/410...z1000-police-special

Don't know if it's the direction you want to go in, but I hope it helps.

Thanks man, cool what he did, but it is a little different than I want. I think I might just buy a kz650 seat from ebay and adapt it to the cop subframe. We will see. If anyone on here has a 2 up seat they want to sell, let me know.

Here is my current project, and how I made the seat/tail for my P-12:

My progress has been snails pace, but this bike has been one of the funnest projects I have done. I havent updated the thread in a while, but look through it, you will get the idea of the direction I am going. Hope it helps.

Will a KZ1000 LTD seat fit on my police bike? Does anybody know? Or would it with minor modification?

I think you would need a lot of modification. The police frame is quite a bit different than a standard KZ, it really slings low at the seat area, and this is why I made my own seat/tail.

Aha, cool. THanks for the info. I think I am most likely going to go with a fiberglass cafe tail, but I will keep it in mind. I am kinda back and forth. Let me know if you do pull it out, but dont go out of your way.
