i want to paint my bike using candy red,yellow gold,and red....that way i can control the transparency.....but would i use as a base.....to give it some snap?

traditional candies are sprayed over silver or gold metalflake for the snap. Silver gives it a brighter colder feel while gold gives it a warmer deeper tone. the last candy I used was on a real fire with pinup girl over Black metallic with copper pearl. you can use about any light base color and stay true to your color. candy bases are typically a less coarse metalic and sold as paint not dry metallic. I am sure there are people with more experience with candys on here than me. you can also use a midcoat paint (semi transparent) over a base color to achieve unique depthe and color.
