I need to strip the old paint off my sidecar. I'm looking at Harbor Freight's soda blasters, any suggestion? I'm looking for something easy to move that won't take up too much room but with sufficient power to get through some pretty thick paint. Thanks upfront.

I've used one at my buddys shop works like a charm but you gotta slow down and let the compressor catch up small parts are a snap. gonna do the swingarm after I get it mocked up. When I get the funds I will run to buy one.

Am doubtful about soda blasting to remove thick paint.

Good Fortune! :)

Somthing that large is best to send it out or sand it... soda blasting at home will take forever, in my opinion. Even if you have a relatively high CFM compressor, the spray fan (width) of the soda is very small. The "professionals" use blasters that look like fire hoses and the pattern is a few inches wide.

Paint stripper then blasting, might work better. Sand instead of soda, should come out clean.

ive got a soda blaster i use for stripping car/truck bodies/parts works pretty good if youre not in a huge hurry.
i mix baking soda/black blast when i use mine on heavier steel bodies without any warpage issues,if the side car is fiberglass id use plain baking soda on it B)
