I took mine to a local powder company.I think they were originally powdered? this guy sand blasts them and then I had a gloss finish put on them. for the motor itself I used pj1 engine paint.and its held up real well.

just reread original post. you are talking about painted parts. did those myself.alot of trial and error as a rookie but well worth the effort.

i think hes talking about the plastics (side covers and tail )
