welcome
n ot familiar with the 82 frame , however, if it doesnt match for mounting purposes i would get a cheap repo tailpiece off the net, do a little fiberglass work to it to make it fit, find a how to fiberglass on the net on go to it

Another idea if you can weld, I would just weld a few nuts onto the frame where the tailfin bolts in.

the way the subframe and seat is stepped is going to cause you problems.

i have been trying to get someone to cut off the rear sub frame and fab a new one so they could put kz/z1 sidecovers tail piece and flat seat pan.

but if you are not comfortable cutting the rear of your frame off and welding a new sub frame on there is not much option.

there isn't any "cool" tailpiece that just bolts on the 81 and later ltd's.

check out marnemans project thread he cut the rear and added a kz650 tail and cut his pan
and used a zrx seat cover.

Thanks very much. Not sure I want to cut the frame though. I'll give it some thought
