Anyone know an easy way to remove the the factory blak engine paint that comes on GPz motors etc..
I like the silver or polished finish much better. Might be easier to sell or trade for the silver parts?

hey jydog , if the engine is out of frame or your gonna repaint frame this is how i do it . spray stripper in can, start at the top . wrap coils and wiring with foil . get some brass brushes , the ones about the size of tooth brushes . use old sray bottle with water to rinse as you move down the engine . dont try to get everything at once . make a couple passes , then when most paint is gone spray it down with aluminium wheel cleaner and rinse with water hose or power washer. sounds like alot of work but its not to bad , i have done this in one day with great results , just wrap up any thing you dont want stripper on , good and tight with foil , its cheap insurance from the dollar store.

Yeah, it is all apart. I am definitely keeping the head and cams but the cases are the same as a J motor I believe. Funny thing is I have two of them. 81 and an 84. So if anyone is going black on a J motor hit me up I've got a factory black one and one that was just freshly painted.
