Any fiberglass spraypaint at Home Depot or Lowes?

I got some metal primer to spray the inside of my touring trunk and the paint doesn't apply correctly and is tacky even when dried. I looked at the can and it said metal primer- I had not even thought of that! Dumba$$ mistake- I'll admit it.

one can use just about any type of paint for glass, millions of glass cars and bike fairings shot with laquer, enamel, urethane, ect.

make sure your prep work is done ie scuff up area first for mechanical bond.

also, most spray enamels even once 'dry' are soft and will leave handling marks for up to a week so until fully thickness cured. ie no smell.

any primer or paint at those stores will do the trick for your trunk int.

Alright, I first sprayed the inside of the trunk with rubber undercoating and let it dry for close to a week (in a SoCal 100+ and low humidity garage) then I shot the undercoating with primer- it's still tacky, guess I have to let it dry longer. It is dry and not tacky, however, where I made a test spray a few days ago- but I didn't coat it as thick. Guess I just have to wait.

I'm pretty sure the rubber undercoating is the problem. I'm also sorry to say it may not harden. If you want a texture you need to use something that drys hard like bed liner. Just leave it in the sun and see what happens.

Alright, I've got the trunk sitting out in the sun where it'll be all day. The rubber undercoating, on the can, says that paint will adhere to it (but it says to spray on metal, nothing about fiberglass).

Is there anything I could spray on it to harden it up? The inside is tacky, I'd like to avoid that.

Unfortunately the base product of the so called rubber undercoat is TAR. It will never harden. The ONLY thing you can do is to remove it completely and than spray it again.

Crap. How do I remove a thick coating of primer and tar from fiberglass without getting high?

Alright, after a day of baking in the sun, the undercoating/primer crap is noticeably harder. I'll leave it sit out for another day or two in the sun and should be ready to rock.

+1 for global warming.
