Seat cover is tearing!

I noticed that 2 very minor tears have started in my seat cover. Is there anyway to cut my losses? Maybe pull the cover off and tape it (with duct tape from the inside)?

If it has tits or tires, it'll give you problems!

Take it off, turn it inside out,get some of that heavy duty waxed thread and needle used for lacing leather steering wheels covers and put a couple tight stitches in each tear. Will stop the tearing and doesnt look awful like duct tape.bj

There is also repair kits for vinyl (if you have a vinyl cover) that you can use from the outside once it's sewed up (maybe?) that you can use to fill in the tear and "mold" the edges together again. I used a vinyl repair kit on a rip on the outside edge of my new seat cover that I made and it has held up really well. If the tear is big enough, I would still sew it as recommended to prevent it from ripping further.

when i installed my new seat cover i managed to tear it a little in one of the seams.i used one of those denim iron on patches your mom used to use to re-enforce the knees in your jeans.cut to size and ironed on the backside then hand sewed it back together.worked so far.

If you dont mind the flat look (no stitching, etc.), then you can purchase multidirectional stretch vinyl/pleather/etc and just cover right over the seat you have now. It works/looks fantastic if you pull it tight.

My wife sewed my original Z1B seat cover. Tore on the seam so it wasn't too bad. I got a heavy duty needle set and some upholtery thread. Do it in the sun, more flexible.
