I purchased a 79 MKII and the paint is faded pretty bad. I am looking for the code for the color of the original bike. Anyone know or has matched the color close?

Contact Tony...one of our Moderators...he had his bike (a MKII) painted by Arai59 (a former member) and is pleased with the results.

Yes that was a great job on Tony's bike. 79 KZ1000MKII came in red or blue, I was able to purchase the exact Kawasaki red paint through Kawasaki to try to paint a small fairing used on long rides. It was not 100% correct even using Kawasaki paint. Of course I recommend staying faded unless you can find someone to do it right. It's not easy.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Kawasaki did not have color codes that you would use to have colors mixed. Most colors Kawasaki used were Candy colors, not sure about the 79's. What is the original color....red, blue, or?

The Kawasaki touch up paints were Lubri-Tech products and were not what Kawasaki used, only some close formulated match done in the US.
