Actually, I was going to to those this winter, but I never got to them. That's how they were when I got the bike.

Nice looking bike buddy. Love the color. Is that a anodized paint?

Pretty bike, securitygeek! I can tell that you've done some polishing- I can see your kids looking over your shoulders in the reflection in the engine cover:)

Here is a stupid question.
In the picture labeled DSCN0603 your air filter holder is a solid piece.(the thing that holds down the air filter that you screw down) Is that standard on the Kawasakis or is that an aftermarket accesory?
Great work on the bike by the way. It looks great.

She's looking mighty fine geek. Nice job. If, however, the Allen heads holding the bar clamps are those standard black tool steel type, they will rust quickly and look like hell. Stainless is the ticket.

Warthog, I'm not sure I understand your question. The big round thingy just to the right of the tank, yeah that's the top of the cover for the air filter. It is really two pieces, the top is metal, and I think that it is riveted to a plastic piece that goes just into the top of the filter element. Is that what you meant? As far as I know, the one I have is stock.
Nevco, the kids are all over that bike, always want to sit on the new seat, wear 'dads helemt', always actin like they're riding their own motorcycle. Wouldn't it be nice to have the responsibilities of a 4 and 5 (sorry 5 1/2) year old again?
Yep, the allen heads on the bar clamps are the standard hardware store fare, for now. They currently look better than the mismatched rusty, pitted chrome and grade 5 hex head bolts that were there. Maybe a little wax will keep them looking good for a little while.
I just finished sanding the clear enamel and then putting a couple coats of wax on it today. I'll try to get a few more pictures up in the next few days. Were supposed to be getting some rain for the next few days though.
Thanks for the complements guys. It sure isn't perfect, but it's a mighty sight better than it used to be. Oh, I'm riding again, what could be better than that?!
