With $4 gas around again, I'm wanting to use my KZ900 as my ride to work. I'm an electrician and mostly do construction work, however, being the apprentice I'm the one that gets shifted to another job site or service call when the need arises. I put back on the luggage rack and 2ft sissy bar that came with the bike, but need more carrying capacity. I was given some bags which should be large enough, but I've got 20 - 40 lbs. of gear to carry and I'm thinking I'm gonna need some support for the saddle bags to lean on. The universal kits I've seen won't work for my 76 KZ900 and I have decided to build them. I can't weld but am a whiz with a drill and nuts and bolts. I was thinking of using flat steel or bending 3/4 inch conduit into a U shape. I've seen some great ideas on moving the turn signals thanks to this website. My problem is I don't have any idea on how to mount whatever I build onto the bike and maintain a ridged frame for the weight. Any suggestions or pics of what other people have done?

Found some single bolt supports and managed to make them work.
