looks reasonably priced.
i wonder what would be required to convert a cabinet over to soda blasting?

Where is a good place to buy soda media to use in a blaster?

It doesn't take a special blaster to use soda in does it...different nozzles, etc. I have a blaster but haven't used it yet. I'll check Eastwood. Buy from there on occasion. Out HF didn't have any last time I was there...had other media but not soda but it's a small place...might be able to get some though...have to check again. Wonder if Hy-Vee would freak out if I came to check-out with every box they had onthe shelves? lol

I use mine all the time, wish I built it when I did my Z1, but I use it all the time on my KX resto. I just buy the $2-3 large boxes of Arm & Hammer, one box can do alot if you play around with pressure. I just throw on a dust mask and some glasses and do my parts outside, then wash them off with the hose. I tried doing a cabinet first but there was no vacuum system so it was just a dust cloud in 5 seconds. The soda is so cheap there's no reason to contain it. Plus with a cabinet you limit the size part you can clean.
Here's my blaster, the hose is shorter now so I can use one hand to hold the part.
Some results:
I initially cleaned my 900 engine by hand, took 2 days and still didn't look great. I sealed off the intake and went around the engine with the soda being very careful not to get the frame or anything painted, then hosed it off.

I'm doing a restoration on a 1980 shaft and all the local places wanted big bucks to do any kind of blasting work on it. HF had the 15 pound model on sale for $99.00 and a 50 pound bag of course grade soda is 35 bucks. (They also carry a medium grade.) Best money I ever spent. You do have to give it a good shake now and then to loosen up the contents but otherwise it's a breeze. I'm about halfway through stripping the engine down and still have half a bag of soda left. Way easier than I thought it would be. When I was finished for the day I used the shop vac to recover a good portion of the soda. I might try reusing it just to see what happens.

I think I may have just found a source for cheap baking soda. It appears that farmers and ranchers use it in their feed. My local feed store has it in 50 lb bags for twelve bucks.

Don't know how course it is though.
