GPz Stripe removal, Any tips? was created by mjg15
Anybody have any tricks for removing the OEM GPz stripes?

I'm repainting, so preserving the finish under them isnt a concern

on the tank id just use paint stripper, plastic parts id say a heat gun or good ol hair dryer.
eastwood makes a wheel that goes on a buffer/grinder for it but not sure if it would hurt plastic. B)

Have had success using WD40 (soak for a few minutes or longer) to safely remove stripes, adhesive stickers, decals, etc. from painted finishes, and without any damage whatever to the underlying finish.

The WD40 works its way underneath the applique and allows it to be easily removed.

Of course, this won't work where the applique is covered by clear coat.

Good Fortune! :)
