Stripped hole for tank emblem mount
09 Apr 2011 01:42
Anyone got a fix for having one of the tank emblem mount holes being stripped? A larger screw wont really look right on the emblem, and im afraid some form of adhesive is now my only hope. Anyone had this issue? All 3 of the other holes are fine

Two solutions as I see it. #1 clean it out, flux it good and then braze the hole shut. Drill with a 2.5mm bit and tap with a M3x0.5mm tap. Or, #2 install a M3x0.5mm helicoil.

if its not really lose stick a little clear finger nail polish on the screw threads and run it in

What's the best way to remove that emblem bracket? My tank is rusty under there, and I want to clean it up.

its spot welded on,try spraying some rust neutralizer around the area and let it soak in in there
