Gas tank compatibility was created by OskarM
I have a 1982 KZ1000J with a pretty badly dented tank. There are KZ750 tanks on ebay that are in way better shape than mine for a very reasonable price. Would a 81 KZ750 tank fit my 82 KZ1000? I will have it repainted and also need to know where I can find the pin stripes to return the bike to original condition.

Tanks that will fit are:
Z1000J1/J2/J3 - note that these are Euro J tanks and superficially resemble the GPz-style tanks.
KZ1000R1/R2 tanks
KZ1000J3 tank - Canadian model
KZ1100B2 tank- drop on replacement
KZ1100B1 tank - you'll have to relocate the petcock = cutting and welding
KZ1100R1 tank - Sold only in Canada and Europe.
AND obviously, any KZ1000J1/J2 US model J bike.
