Does anyone know have any suggestions about how to mount the emgo viper fairing? the mounting hardware that it came with seems fairly useless. if anyone can post some closeup pics of their mounting situation that would be much appreciated
thanks

Did you figure it out? I am also looking to grab one for my '81 kz550.

Also i can't figure out the model number for this fairing (says its is an older GPz fairing) which a guy has on his.

That appears to be a Maier fairing and has mounting holes drilled in the bottom (beneath the headlamp) which can be seen towards the end of the video. The Maier round headlamp fairing comes without any holes drilled except for those used in attaching/mounting the windscreen. The windscreen is an unknown. GPz-style windscreens are flattened on top. Definitely aftermarket and I think they are still for sale by Maier.

I have the '79-'83 service manual and it shows a bunch of different stock bikes profile. It shows the the GPz with that fairing and windscreen. Does that means that it was stock? If so does it mean I could acquire one and know that it would fit mine?

The one in the video was a round headlamp fairing...never stock on Kawasaki...the GPz series had rectangular headlamps. If your bike has a round headlamp, you have to buy aftermarket...if it has a rectangular, then you can fit a used Kawasaki OEM fairing...the GPz550 fairing can be had fairly reasonably on eBay...BUT you need to acquire all the mounting hardware which may not accompany the fairing.
