Hey guys, I've been polishing up some things on the bike while I'm waiting on parts to arrive for the rebuild and was wondering what is the best way to protect it when done so I don't have to redo it everytime I wash it. If it matters, I polished the clutch and brake levers, shifter and brake pedals, and all the bolts you can see with the bike assembled. so, if you have a method that works really well I'd like to hear it.

Wax? That's it? I was hoping for something a little more durable than that. I don't really want to clear ooat it either. But if it's wax, then it's "wax on."

I've been hand polishing my engine covers for years and they look great but need to be re-done after a major wash job as andy9802gt says. Just a couple coats of car wax will seal it? Just that simple? I'll give it a try.... Thanks!

For Aluminum "ZOOPS"
Goggle it. It is a chemical sealer for polished aluminum.
Once a year! But it is exspensive! Over a $100 for the kit. the kit will cover 75 sq. feet of area.

Otherwise just keep wiping it with Mothers of Flitz.

lol Just never thought about waxing aluminum. How does wax hold up to engine heat?
