removing stickers
07 Dec 2010 17:00
Didnt expect it to be so hard, but removing the stock decoration stripes adhesives on the side panels and tail of my GPZ750 is turning to be a PITA
Tried heat gun, paint remover, thinners.
Got the even the paint of the adhesives off but the nasty vinyl layer stays put!
Any other ideas?
Dont mind spoiling the paint around as they all going to be repainted.
On the other hand, removing the kawasaki logo stickers from the tank was quite easy, the heath gun did the trick.

I usually take a razor blade and kinda scrape one edge on the concrete,It seems to dull it enough so that it doesn,t dig in to bad

Sometimes soaking with WD40 for a few minutes makes it easier to remove the residual stickiness.

Pro Form PF-600, works great for removing the adhesive from vinyl graphics....test a piece first as it can screw up certain plastics. I've never had an issue but I wipe the area down quickly with dish soap and water to be safe after I use the PF-600.
I used it today to take off permanent marker on my fiberglass seat...works like a charm.

wish it was only the sticky residues... it's the film itself that's staying on.
the bike stood for long time in the sun, so its really "baked" on the surface.
looks like i'll have to sand it down!
