I used ceramic high temp header paint. Gasoline doesnt bother it, and it turned out a nice shade of black - not too dull or shiny... Can be bought at Auto Zone or similar places...

PJ1 High heat semi gloss (rattle can) has the perfect tone and gloss and gasoline wont touch it.

If reading these posts correctly, it's good to hear about high temp rattle can spray paint being gasoline proof.
Is oven-curing required after painting?
Have had good results using high temp rattle can paint on motorcycle exhaust header pipes (and just letting it self-cure while riding).
But never doused or wiped them with gasoline to test whether fuel proof.
Good Fortune!
