My 50/50 rattle can paint job

It looks good at 50 ft going 50 mph! Well, I got real excited to take the Kz on its maiden voyage. I filler it up with premium and started to ride off easy to break in the new tires. I ride off and smell gas real bad and just think, "oh maybe the bike is just running rich, it may need some carb tuning"...well no! I get to a stop light and I see gas pouring from the side of the tank onto the cam cover and spark plugss! Dangit! I could have been a rolling ball of fire or worse because the idiot before me put a wrong longer screw into the badge! And this is what happens.

So I pull over and drain half the tank and ride home pissed but thankful be alive.

Well I get to stipping the tank and patch the pinhole with JB weld....I know I read that it doesnt always work, but for now, for this riding season its what I did. I will get it professionally welded at some point.

Heres the progress so far

I still have to wetsand, clear coat and buff, but its just a start. I had to see what it would kind of look like together

not to bad for using a spray bomb. I kind of like the flatter finish.

I fixed a pin hole in my tank with JB Weld 10 years ago and it's still holding.

The exhaust is an unbaffled RC performance 4 into 1. LOUD but awesome. Im probably going to retrofit a baffle into it
