Removing the gas cap for painting
04 Oct 2010 09:58
I'm getting my KZ1000 gas tank ready for painting. My smallest allen wrench is too big to fit the pins holding the gas cap. What size do I need or is there an alternate way to get the cap off?
The gas cap is not pretty and I'll probably get a new one.
Thanks, Mike

I used a small punch to drive out the hinge pin. Should only be w couple $$ at the local hardware store

Okay that worked! Now that the pins are out I guess they aren't designed to be screwed in with an allen wrench after all.
Thanks
