I just had my tank and side panels painted.

I'm about ready to re-apply the side panel emblems. When popped them off before sending them to the paint shop they had some kind of black glue or epoxy holding them on. The posts on the back of the emblems are in OK shape, but I think I'd feel better if they were also held on with some kind of double sided tape or adhesive.

For the tank, the tank badges had been removed and the screw holes filled in before I bought the bike. The tank looks great with the new paint, but I'd like to stick some Kawasaki emblems on the sides of the tanks. With no screw holes I'll definitely have to attach these with some sort of tape.

The foam double sided tape they sell at Lowes looks too thick and not sticky enough. Can anyone recommend a good brand of tape or adhesive for this job?

i just used some fine wire and wrapped em post to post and twisted it with a set of fine needle nose.... then i mixed some of that two part gray and black epoxy that comes in a soft stick in a tube.....and made two boogers...big boogers...and pushed...kneeded em around the posts and the next day they were really secure..i used a small hunk of steel inside the posts to weight it over night and set it emblem side down...this kept the posts pushed in and the epoxy from pushing in any slack as it dried ......

I like that idea for the side panel emblems for sure.

I won't be able to do that with the tank emblems though. Any ideas for sticking those on?

Use 3M double sided tape for the tank emblems. We used to use that to attatch automotive emblems in a body shop. It holds great, but it is removable if needed. You probably aren't gonna find it at Lowes though ;)

3M also makes an emblem adhesive in a tube, great stuff. The epoxy putty is the trick for the side covers.
