I could give you the green that is on the newer kawi's. I think its been pretty close to the same bright green for many years.

for the standard lime green that they use on alot of their bikes the code is 7F I also have a code for the older ones but it looks to be a dark green. I only have the code for the brand of paint I use in house though.

I know this is gonna sound sketchy as hell...I read a magazine article somewhere that interviewed some early '70's Kaw factory race mechanic. This guy claimed that a works bike got banged up in a prior race and was fixed somewhere in Cali. He called a friend's body shop to get it painted in time for the next race, the body man in question had just finished some kinda mopar(i.e. Duster, Dart, Cuda, Challenger...)and had some paint left over. Turns out Kawasaki green is actually the famous to gearheads everywhere color "Sublime Green".

I used to be into Mopars and had my Cuda painted "Limelight" which was the 1970 Plymouth version of the bright green. I think Sublime was a touch darker or the Dodge name. I don't remember exactly.

I rigged up a hitch to the bumper to haul my KX250 around.

I'm restoring a 94 KX250 now (restoring to showroom condition, not just fixing up) and was looking for alternatives to Tiffany's...er, Colorite. lol I found a close match with the Eastwoods paint but it's not exact. Maybe it's a good shade for your project. PJ1 discontinued all their colored frame paints. I'm lucky to have a couple cans of Kaw green and 3 cans of the UBER Rare Kaw Flo Green or Works Green.

Those are NOS 1994 KX250 handlebars that I opened from the original packaging. So no repaint.

One more thing...

You can try emailing nightmare-racing.com and ask about the old KX gas tank paint. They specialize in old dirtbikes and that color MAY be a little different than the more modern KX green. It looks more like the bike you pictured.

Looks a lot like the color of my old Lawnboy (1984 vintage) mower. I wonder how close that would be if you could find the color code? Ed

Hey, look! I used the search function! ;)

I'm thinking about maybe doing an Eddie Lawson inspired replica type paint job for my little KZ250 project.
I've found some cool pics for inspiration and I can use the DupliColor grabber green (close enough for what I want to do).

My question is about the accent stripes. White = easy. But what about the darker stripe? I've seen blue and purple used as the accent stripe. Which is more correct? Is there a DupliColor that's close to the blue? Or is it purple?
