2.5 Gallon Paint Pot was created by Kawickrice
I just aquired a Campbell Hausfeld 2.5 gallon pressure pot. Will this spray automotive finishes? I have never used one but I am familiar with other types of paint systems, HVLP. airless, and conventional automotive guns.
It came with a material hose but no gun. Can I use one of my automotive guns with it if I remove the cup and attatch the material hose or is this geared more for house type paints?
It sure would be nice if I could spray automotive paints and primers with it but if not my house could use a painting

Theoretically you could use it, but it would have to be with a pressure feed gun. The big difference between house paint guns and auto paint guns is the tip size. for house paint the tips are quite a bit larger than auto guns. Also they use alot more air to push the thick paint through them. honestly you would be better off using one of your guns for automotive. Pressure pots really are used for production painting because of the need to not have to fill them up less often. not really what you are looking for if you want a quality paint job man. Good for the house though.
