Can a LTD side panel fit a KZ?

Will a left side panel from a 1978 1000 LTD fit a 1977 kz 1000? I have been looking for the left panel for a year, I refuse to buy the reproduction. I have a line on a LTD panel on ebay and I want to make sure it will fit before I buy. I have an extra kz decal so I can do the switch.

Yes those two years should be interchangeable.
