KZ1300 tank on a KZ1100?
12 Jul 2010 09:16
Ran into consequences of not letting a cream kit cure long enough before putting gas in the tank: it's peeling off in giant bubbles. Can anyone tell me if a 79 KZ1300 tank will work on an 83 KZ1100 Spectre? I know they're longer but how about the width?
And, does anyone have advice on stripping cream coat out of a tank?

Acetone will remove Kreme coating from inside fuel tank, and is the product recommended by the Kremeorians.
Be extra careful to avoid getting acetone on painted exterior finish of fuel tank.
As known, acetone eats paint fairly quickly.
Good Fortune!

The KZ1300 frame is extremely large in comparison to the 1100 tank. If you are very good in metal work I imagine you could make it work, otherwise if you are just thinking of dropping one on than the answer is NO, NO and NO. it will not fit. If this is the two part "epoxy' cream than the only way to remove it is to burn it out. I have used every solvent imaginable to try and remove epoxy including Mil.Spec aircraft grade paint strippers with no avail.
