I am thinking the next step for my Z1 is a front fairing. I want a vintage style "bullet" fairing. This is pretty much what I want...

Anyone ever mounted one? Have any pics? Know of any other good sources for them or know what will fit the best?
Thanks!

i really like that vintage 70's style racer custom. go for it! I know of a few guys who have a custom fairing thats even smaller, similar to Z1R, but I've never seen a Z with that type of fairing before.

in 85 my first z-1 had a tiny little fogged -two bar support-plexiglass -fin/shroud-over the light and instruments

the closest i've ever seen to it are 14-16" rifle jobbers...this was only bigger than a basball caps bill by half....it actually worked and was super low proflie dress up....kinda smoked like a early beemers...never seen one agian......

for what you are aiming at i think you will need clip on bars and maybe even lower instruments....

Years ago (decades) I had a Dunstall 3/4 fairing on my Z1a.
It looks alot like the Imola Replica in your link.
It looked cool and gave NO handling problems .

BUT !!!!!!!
You have to run like clubmen bars.
I think I ended up with drag bars.
With all the changes they take.
(shorter cables and hoses)
And short bars in a parking lot on a Z1 are NO fun.
Add a damper and you better be eating your Wheaties.

I may still put a half fairing on my bike but for now it has a number plate on it.
What will fit best depends on how you've got the bike set up especially your handlebars. There are some half fairings that will work ok with a flattish (superbike) bar like the Pacifico fairing but most of them require use of clip ons or clubman handlebars.

The Rickman CR fairing fits nicely, the Ducati SS will work good too.
You need a front fairing stay that holds the headlight and clamps/welds to the neck, a windscreen bracket (easiest off the steering stem nut) and two small brackets underneath the tank for the bottom "ears".
