Whats the best wheel for cleaning up chrome?

My sissy bar is chrome, but it has seen better days. I took a green scotchbrite type pad to it last night and that worked fairly well to get rid of the haze on the chrome and some of the suraface rust. Eventually I'd like to get it re-chromed, but for now, I just want to polish it up. However, I'd like to use less elbow grease and more power tool.

Is there a good wheel for either my drill or my dremel to clean it up, without scratching the chrome?

Once chrome has been compromised with a coarse material it is next to impossible to bring it back to life. At this point I would just paint it black before you have it stripped and re-chromed.

It's pretty good after what I did with the scotchbrite. I just need like a scotchbrite wheel or something.

Keep in mind that decorative chrome plating generally is only 1 - 2 thousandths of an inch thick (if you;re lucky), so you can quickly polish down to the nickel sub-layer. Ed

dont use a scrubby...use chrome cleaner like the guys say and if you do it once in while it will eventually get about as good as it is gonna...over time some scrubby marks will polish out...if you continue to use even soft scrubby type pads you will have worse and worse swirls and dulling...and need a paint to hide as okatar suggests...if not already...

"Chrome boy" and a very soft toothbrush is kinda ok for tight spots like spokes and rims and sissy bars imo.....
