sand, bondo, sand some more and repeat as needed until scratches are gone. Then paint color of your choice. :silly:

If you are looking for one that has stock paint, try ebay or a salvage yard.

If you find a matching cover, but it isn't in the greatest condition, you can try polishing it. I reconditioned a side cover using Meguiar's Miror Glaze 9 Swirl Remover 2.0, applying it w a polishing sponge & cordless drill. Here's a photo comparing the before & after. The pic makes it look better than it is, but the side cover does look a lot better than it was.

I orginally bought it to use as the final step after painting a fuel tank w rattle cans.
Primer. wet sand. color. wet sand. clear. wet sand w 1500 or 2000(?), then
polish w swirl remover. I used it on the green tank.

Sweet!! Wonder if it would work on a laquer over wood? My husband recently refurbished his 1978 Fender Musicmaster Bass, and I bet he would have loved something like this to help in the final polishing process!! Oly pict I can find at work is this one.... it's the natural one with black pick guard.

I'll definately have to tell him about this stuff, as he's already talking about "the next bike"
