Finally got my tank back from the paint shop. I had a buddy of mine powder coat the tank for me. It turned out even better than I expected. two coats of gloss black powder and two coats of clear. check it out
1982 kz1000 ltd 4 into 1 vance and hines with baffle and pod filters. stock engine that was rebuilt but don't know at how many miles

Thanks. I was worried about the powder coat not coming out as glossy as I had hoped. It turned out better.

That looks really cool. I've been thinking about powdercoating my tank.
I had a sweet red base/clear paint job done, but it's already got chips and a fuel spill dulled the clearcoat badly. Don't know how to fix it.
I painted it red because I was going to sell the bike and I thought red would be the most saleable color, but I've decided to keep it, and I really prefer it be flat black.
Is powdercoating significantly more chip and fuel resistant?
