LTD Seat compatibility was created by BeeSting
Hi All. Its good to be back around the Kaw Barn.

I'm looking at the possibility of replacing my 80 LTD's 2 piece seat with a similiar one piece design. Is it possible? How do the one piece seats mount? (whereas 2 screws and a hinge mount my current seat(s).

What seats may be compatible?

Thanks alot

The most likely choices would be the 81-83 KZ750-Ltd-4 chain drive or 81-83 KZ650-CSR. These bikes have the same frame. I recovered a 1-piece 82 Ltd-4 seat & put it on my 81 CSR (which also has a 1-piece seat. Their seats are identical). The 1-piece seats have two hinges. You can take a gander at the diagrams at Kawasaki.com.

I never knew these ever came with a two piece design. Is the back seat hinged as well? Do you have a picture? Are you looking to sell your seat?

From referencing the diagrams at Kawasaki.com, it looks like the rear seat is bolted in place, not hinged... not 100% sure, though. Here's a nice 1980 KZ750-Ltd that was on ebbaayy...

the rear seat is bolted in place. You could probably come up with something if you were to put a 1 pc on to make it hinge. You would just have to be creative.
