I tried the tank from a shaft-drive KZ a few years back. It had the one mounting bolt at the rear of the tank, and on my '79 LTD, it was not a close fit at all. The frame angle was too different and I didn't see a way to make it fit w/o completely rebuilding the tank.

Kerker 4-1 exhaust
Stock airbox
VM26SS carbs (115 main/17.5 pilot)
Corbin Gunfighter seat
Dyna-S ignition

What is the best looking, squared off, ELR style tank that will fit a 1979 LTD1000 w/o doing any major modifications?

Eddie's first Kawasaki superbikes were 1979-80 MKll's not J Models so you could look for that bodywork and seat. The sidecover mounts will definitely need to be replaced but the frames are quite similar.

I would like to see any pictures of Eddie prior to 1981. The first published pictures I ever saw were on a 1981 KZ1000J-1. I have never seen a picture on a MKII series bike from 79 or 80.
