help removing anodizing was created by thompsonmx100
I need help removing the anodizing from the upper fork tubes on my bike. I had heard of some sort of trick but can't remember what it was. please help.

drain cleaner, especially draino-crystals in some water...

It will make the ano wipe right off... don't leave the part in to long or it will eat the alum. If it is anything like the ano I used to take off paintball gear a 30 second dip in the drain cleaner will be all it takes.

Another choice would be the spray on oven cleaners followed by a good scrub with soap and water with repeated rinses.

This will remove the red,black,blue and clear anodizing from aluminum.
