Need a gas tank for my 82 1000 LTD

Any body have a tank they would sell me???? I lined mine and it is sending stuff through my carbs, it froze the slides.

Wash the lining out with acetone. Coat the inside of the tank with epoxy. I don't see how the slides got frozen with anything from the tank.

I do. The tank was not properly cured (for whatever reason). I have a 1982 GPz1100 that (because of the previous owners' inability to properly apply a Kreem liner (and then apply a second round of Kreem because the first didn't work)) resulted in a liner that slowly dissolved in gasoline...this passed through the filter, gummed up the fuel pump, coated all fuel lines, gummed up the injectors, throttle-bodies and coated the entire inside of the head with an epoxy-like lining...the valves then galled and froze in place. So, I ended up replacing the tank, fuel lines, injectors, throttle bodies, valves, valve stem seals, and fuel pump and then soaked the head in a solvent to remove the epoxy lining...all because of someone elses 'Kreem' experience.

Tom...disassemble your carbs completely and thoroughly clean all jets too!

It is pore 15 and I think that I didnt get all of the nuts out of there and they caused a pocket not to dry and release into the gas.
I cleaned the carbs. What would remove the pore 15?

I have heard that acetone works, as does MEK...MEK is particularly nasty stuff...use health precautions

Got your slides today. I will do them tomorrow and try to ship them out tomorrow also or Saturday the latest. I was wondering, how long have these been on the bike since you got them back from WG. I was shocked on how the needles were dirty and the slides also. I had carbs on bikes all season with less buildup on the needles.

Got one on ebay.
