LH Sidecover for 78 KZ650

I need one of these, my serial # is KZ650D006XXX, where could I get a decent after market one? Is z1 my best bet?

Does this serial # make my kz a D1?

I'd keep an eye on eBay for an original sidecover. They show up there all the time. Regarding your model, take a look at the following link. It looks like yours is a '78 KZ650D1.

650 B&C model side covers can fit as well, but D model covers are taller, as in they are longer top to bottom.

Search the internet for jarle z650. That Z650 website has lots of information, including the frame number & engine number info.

Also, Kawasaki.com has parts diagrams in the Owner Info section where you can cross-reference stuff. However, it may not be very helpful for side covers.

I have an extra left cover for a B1, its either black or dark blue cant remember its in my shed. Has the KZ650 emblem on it
