I am quite sure a little 250 starter bike is not going to be the pride and joy and wonderment of all in the cycling community and it won't matter one way or the other.

I use a German polish called WENOL that stuff is the shit. Like saxonz I use the Harbor Freight polishing kit but use the WENOL insted of the bars of compound. My local bike shop had a drag bike that had all the aluminum polished like crome and it looked awesome, so I tried it and it out does everything I have tried.

I've read/heard good things about the mother's brand polishing ball and now the cone. A cordless drill, the polishing paste and the cone/ball should do a great job on wheels and engine cases.

I guess I should specify, that I really want to "clean" the aluminum more than anything. It has that spotty dark speckled sort of look, I am guessing from 30 years of no cleaning. It being polished would just be a bonus, and help me with selling it to get a bigger bike.

So how do I get the speckled spotty stuff off? Is a Brillo pad a bad idea?
