I prefer to mig-weld them. I run about 5 psi through the tank while welding.

Thanks for the tips - Im hoping this can be repaired - its not a rust hole - my own mistake, changed the coils replaced the original philips head bolts with allen heads - damn thing rubbed on the underside and wore a tiny hole - you live and learn

I repaired a rub through hole with epoxy tank and radiator repair kit. About 5 dollars from Autozone. Still working great.

I repaired a couple of pin holes in an auxiliary fuel tank for our combine last summer with POR-15. They provide a strip of gauze fabric that helps hold the sealer over the area. It worked great and the tank is completely sealed.

I have them leaded up at a local radiator shop. Lower heat and less chance of a blow out from welding. Brazing is about the same. Make sure the inside is clean. Acid wash with a good rinse works well. A por-15 coating also helps.

needs to be purged out with argon or nitrogen to prevent fires, after its properly cleaned. thats a contiuous purge not just filling it up too.
