Wasn't sure where to post this since it's more of a polishing/cleaning question.

I have some stains on my 4-2 chrome exhaust that I can't seem to get out. I haven't spent a ton of time on them yet, but I haven't really been able to make any progress either. They appear to be either from fuel overflow or battery overflow. There was a ton of crud on them so I might just need to spend some more time but I wondered if anyone knew any specific methods/tricks for these particular types of stains on chrome exhausts.

WD40 is also a good gunge remover, and won't harm painted parts.

Battery acid stains on chrome are likely impossible to remove.

Good Luck! :)

I have also used oven cleaner with excellent success. Reciently I had rubber from my boot on my megaphone that was baked on so after 3 applications of Easy-Off and it came off fine and left the chrome fine...Russ

They sure are.

Turtle Wax chrome polish works well. It may fade the stains some, but they are probably through the chrome.
