paint colors??? was created by torqthrust
Im rebuilding a 440LTD,and its almost time for paint on the fenders and tank,Fenders were chrome(mostly rust
I guess, since previous owner painted them black)and tank color was original black..
Im thinking a color might be more attractive, but black does have a certain sex appeal, any ideas for colors???

Welcome to KZr torqthrust.
Nice looking KZ440LTD you have there.
If you plan on having a lot of chromed or polished parts on your bike (engine covers, exhaust, levers, mirrors, wheels, even the frame), I'd go with darker colors.
It makes the painted parts stand out much better from the chromed parts, and vise/versa.
For a lot of black or darker colored parts (frame, engine, etc.), I'd suggest lighter colors for the same above listed reasons.
Basically the choice of exact color is up to you. Remember, you're the one who is going to be riding your bike.
You could always look through the Picture Gallery here of other KZr members bikes to give you an idea on what a particular color would look like on your bike.

It is a tough decision to pick a color, and it doesnt realy seem like the manly thing to spend alot of time deciding, but 4R is right its your call and unless you are doing an inexpensive rattle can you will want to like that color for a long time. Both my bikes have the frames painted gunmetal grey with the engine left natural, but a black engine would look fine to me also. If I ever have time Im thinking that I might go with a darker red for the bikes this year, but Im along way off from painting either.
