Gas stained paint, need help cleaning please

Hi Guys, it's been a while. I'm tossing my tank bra this year as it's getting ratty. Low and behold there is a yellowish stain down the center of my tank, and no it's not a prostate problem.

I'm wondering what common product you guys use to lift this ancient gas out of the paint, without eating the paint itself. I have an original 1977 KZ 650 B1 factory paint job, moon dust silver I believe.

If I can't get the old gas out of the paint what are my options? Anew strip of grey up the center?, some type of tape stipe up center?, dunno. The tank paint still looks good other than the wiz yellow streak down the center. Thanks.

Keep waxing it over and over. It will eventually come out unless the paint is too far gone.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Polishing compound would be my first choice. If that's not doing it maybe rubbing compound followed by a good wax.
