1977 KZ1000...16k miles 2nd owner all original except tires, dyna-coil, and a vance and hines 4 to 1 exhaust.
KZ1000 Red? was created by chelms27
I am re-painting my KZ1000A over the winter and am trying to figure out the original color. It now is a maroon burgundy looking color but I think it has been re-painted in the past. I want to stay all original what color do I need? The title says RED? I thought they where only red or green? Thanks for any help or pics!!

Diamond wine red is what they called it, I guess that could be burgundy. They also show a diamond sky blue, green was a 76 KZ900 color

The picture I have shows what looks like a gold or yellow and another color pin stripe on the tank above & below the tank emblem and on the tail piece going around it. It also says the diamond sky blue was almost a green color. My bike has been painted so I cant tell anything from it. The stock look was kind of drab in 77 to me. Im looking at the "Original Kawasaki Z1, Z900, & KZ900" book so these may be overseas colors too

The one in plummens picture is a 78 model, 77 was more maroon although called wine red. I guess red wine is really rather maroon, so the name is not all that misleading.
