1975 Z1 Front Wheel Hub color was created by marcuch
I'm restoring a 1975 Z1 back to it's original condition. Does anyone know if the front wheel hub was originally semi-gloss black or gloss black? I'll probably have it powder coated like the frame which is gloss black, but I wanted to get some opinions first. Thanks

Hello Paul and WELCOME to KZr!
We're glad you're here!
While the oem (factory stock) frame is indeed gloss black, the oem wheel hub is "satin" black, not gloss black.
As I understand paint terminology, maximum shine is gloss, then shine diminishes to semi-gloss, then satin, then flat. And further gradients might also be in there somewhere.
Am thinking powdercoating is also available in satin black finish (for the front wheel hub).
Good Luck!

Actually frames are not gloss black either. Bill Hirsch or Eastwood company among others sell the correct shade of black in a can. I'm sure powder coat is available in the color as well. Nothing wrong with gloss black, just not what they used for info.
