wooden bead seat cover was created by jon0108
I googled this topic and read much discussion about using a wooden bead seat cover to relieve discomfort during a long ride.
Well I went to Autozone and bought a $10 automotive wooden bead seat cover and cut it down to size to fit my bike. Let me tell you, best 10 bucks i ever spent. Made my long ride last Sunday very tolerable.

I installed the Whitehorse bead seat on my KZ550 as it's seat is as hard as rock.

I used a beaded pad a few seasons, it's a good choice. But after I recovered my seat and installed a 1/4" thick more foam the seat is even better, so I don't use the beads anymore... The pad did start to fall apart after a while and I had to sew in more thick monofilament to keep it together. All in all, worth the $35 I think I paid.
