Does anyone have a sidemounted license, mounted vertically? Have you been running it that way for very long and have you had any police problems because of it? I don't really want to draw too much of the wrong kind of attention. I'm changing all my signals and rear light to LEDs this year and the pipe is kinda loud, so too many "noticeables" and I just might start getting pulled over.

Should be Okay unless you encounter a cop that has to lay on his side to read it.

what type of LEDS are you looking at? I am getting a sideways plate, that mounts to either your axle or the upper rear shock mount. It comes with the brake/parking light but still hunting for turn signals. The stock harley 'bullet' type on the new bikes are nice, and sort of nostalgic looking

I just ordered a 2002 R1 LED w/ integrated turn signals from ebay and some sheet aluminum from Mcarr Masters. Can't wait to start fabbing a fender eliminator. Saw the R1 LED mounted to some street tracker\Cafe Racer RD350s on the www.moto-carrerra.com website. It's small enough and "generic" enough that I think it will fit well on the back of a KZ.

I'm thinking about LP LED signals if I go with a sidemount plate. If I keep the plate under the tail, I might make a plate mount a little wider and run 4" X 1/2" amber lens truck/trailer marker lights on either side of the plate for signals. I bought a European 4.5" X 1.25" red lens LED taillight off ebay, E marked Euro legal. For front signals maybe small 1.5" X .5" marker lights mounted on my mirrors.

Yep, that's pretty much what I had in mind, only real difference would be mine would be mounted off the axle. My only concern is attracting police attention - vertical license, non DOT license light, LED taillight and signals, also, a loud pipe. Just to avoid the aggravation I'm leaning toward tucking the plate up under the tail to look "normal" to a cruiser coming up behind me.

and this is what it looks like with the small turn lights. they are their but hard to see. only when i'm turning. the onlything they can stop me for would be for the pipe and i've had cops in back already and nothing.just don't rev it hard around cops. just baby it. i know thats hard to do but hay,
