I went on a 450+ mile trip this weekend on the Kop bike. W
I got really tired on my trip this weekend of not being able to see really well at night.
Went up to the Oyster run in Anecortes with some riding friends of mine.
There was over 30,000 bikes there sunday for the event. alot of nice bikes. Camera died though and i dropped all my play money on the ground someplace so i didnt get any batteries lol.
Had a great time, unless we were riding after dark
I couldnt see the road when autos were coming towards me and all i could do was watch a tail light ahead of me at 70 mph and the white line next to my windshield. it was a little scary.
since i couldnt cut it on the road i had to suffer until i got home.
Today after work i dug out my bandsaw and completed my project.
Copied my arched lines with fishin line tied on a sharp screw as a compass. etched it really nice and darkened the groove with a sharpie.
Now i will be able to see at night.

I took a rasp/bastard file on the edges after cutting it, then i used a tile file made for ceramic tile edging to even out the hips and valleys i made with the bandsaw.
Worked awsome, now all i have to do it wet sand the edges with a few more grits each smaller as i go and get it almost polished like normal again.

My boss and younger brother seen it in person and they both said it looks like a professional cut.
I really like having the bandsaw and a home made scribe (compass) complete with a sharpie pen.
the real nice tool for this was the Tile finishing file with a diamond grit, that thing made short work of the edge seriously.
Now that its raining out i should go outside with some 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper and gloss out the edge properly, but i am tired and sore as a 90 year old geezer after working 11 hours straight through without a break whatsoever today.
So the 600 grit and sanding will wait until another day.
The lower cut windshield makes the frontend look like a whole different bike altogether.
Next projeck on the list for the baconator is the fairing, i need to straighten it out and re-center it o nthe front of the bike. it angles to the left for some reason and i think that is possibly why the bike was totalled out by the insurance company. but not 100% positive on that.
Thanks for the compliments guys.
I cant wait for winter actually, i will get to paint the porker a different color over the nasty months. I think i will do it in Red and Gold Bandidos colors to really piss off the police.

if it has a lot of scratches in it you can buy the polish and buff the rest of the windshield,, takes some time but it will look good

Just want to hit it for a fraction of a second as you travel over the edge with the flame. Try it on the piece you cut off for practice....
